I'm very leery of recommending this, because it only applies if you find an unbranded lajatang AND have access to the spell. This isn't a common combination, and moreover it's also one that won't last long: either you'll put a vorpal brand on it read-ID'ing scrolls, or if you can, you'll put a freezing brand (because overall that's better) on it as soon as you can.
