I've been playing Crawl on [https://cbro.berotato.org/ CBR2] since August 2023. The security certificate for CBR2 expired on November 24, 2023 before being restored on December 5, 2023, so I switched to [https://crawl.kelbi.org/ CKO] during that time. A recent discussion on Discord revealed that CKO is shutting down sometime in February, and the 0.31 release is planned to be in January. The return of CBR2 makes the former a non-issue. I currently have active games on both servers, so I'll finish those before deciding which server to do the tournament on. After the tournament, I'll be playing 0.31 on CBR2. I created a page documenting a [[Formicid]] [[Venom Mage]] of [[Ru]] in 0.30 [[User:Patrick2011b/FoVM^Ru|here]].

I read some [[:Category:Diary of a Crawler|diaries]] before joining the wiki and found the concept interesting. The existing diaries are all from old versions though, so I decided to write one of my own to document modern gameplay. Here are a few things to know about what my diary writing will be like:

*I'm not much of a roleplayer, so I expect my diaries to be more factual in nature.

*I play online, so my characters always have the same name. This means the diaries will go in my userspace. The page name will be formatted SSBB^GOD, where SS is the species code, BB is the background code, and GOD is the god my character worships. For example, my first win was with a [[Gargoyle]] [[Monk]] of [[Makhleb]], so its format would be GrMo^Makhleb.

I now have a diary at [[User:Patrick2011b/FoVM^Ru]], which documents a [[Formicid]] [[Venom Mage]] of [[Ru]] from D:1 to D:11. The writing took a lot of time, and a discussion on Discord revealed that there isn't much interest in this form of recording gameplay, so I won't be writing any more diaries. I'll keep playing the character without further writing. When I'm done with the character, I'll add a link to the morgue and add a quick summary of the rest of the game in the diary.

I've been playing Crawl on CBR2 since August 2023 with CDI as backup server. In late November and early December 2023, I played on (now defunct) CKO due to issues with CBR2. Here's my stats page. (technically not the official one, but it has more info than what CAO has)

I created a page documenting a Formicid Venom Mage of Ru in 0.30 here.

Tournaments

DCSS holds a tournament upon the release of each version. The tournament lasts 16 days and counts all games of the new version that are played on official servers. The table below shows some stats for each tournament I've participated in, with the version being a link to a page in my userspace with additional information on my performance in that tournament.

  • I took a hiatus during the entire 0.34 development cycle.
  • The tournament had multiple rule changes relevant to this table in 0.34. Prior to this version:
