Version 0.34: This article is up to date for the latest stable release of Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup.
The Bane of Multiplicity is a Bane which gives a chance for any monster you come across to create 2-3 fragile clones of itself after a short delay. Cloned monsters have a third of the health of the original, half hit dice (for the purpose of spells and abilities), and deal 33% less melee attack damage. These do not disappear on their own or when the original monster is killed. After a monster is cloned, the ability goes on a short cooldown before another monster can be cloned.
The following are not eligible to be cloned:[1]
- Summoned monsters
- Cloned monsters
- Stationary monsters
- Unique monsters
- Monsters with Dooming melee attack flavours or Ill Omen
History
- Doom and Banes were added in 0.34.
