Version 0.14: This article may not be up to date for the latest stable release of Crawl.
This ivory-like dagger looks like it could actually have been created from a tooth of some enormous predatory creature, although obviously not an average human-sized bloodsucker. It is lethally vampiric, and restores a greater portion of life to its user than other vampiric weapons.

Vampiric brand

This weapon always heals its wielder for the full damage it does when the vampiric effect is triggered against a susceptible target.

Desirability

While the Vampire's Tooth may feature a better vampiric effect than any other vampiric weapon, it doesn't do all that much damage to start with. It can be good in the early- to mid-game, where there are many living targets with only moderate amounts of HP, but even then one must usually support this dagger with spellcasting. Later on, it is likely to be useless except in the hands of a stabbing specialist.
