Amphibious

An amphibious creature is one that is equally at home on land and in water. Most notably, merfolk fall into this category, as do a number of other Shoals and Swamp monsters, such as sea snakes and alligators. Player species that are amphibious include merfolk, octopodes, and grey draconians (though the latter will still incur penalties for fighting in water).

Note that this is not the same thing as drowning resistance: most undead possess drowning resistance, but will not voluntarily enter deep water. Rather, they may fall into it while confused, but will seek to exit it as soon as they recover.
