The '''Arbitrary Unit of Mass''' (AUM for short) is the standard unit of weight in Crawl. It has no real-world equivalent, and item weights are generally assigned according to game balance rather than realism. Each point of [[strength]] increases your carrying capacity by 25 aum. When this capacity is exceeded, the player gains the [[encumbered]] condition.
