Charm is a status effect which can only affect monsters, temporarily causing them to ally with you. These monsters will behave as any other summoned or permanent ally would, following you and attacking enemies that you engage, and you can give them commands with t. However, the effect ends after a short while, resulting in the victim once again becoming hostile. You can give monsters this status by successfully affecting them with a wand of enslavement.

Tips and Tricks

  • You can charm a monster to stop it from attacking you if you're struggling to kill it.
  • Charming monsters can help you to split packs, as the charmed monster will then fight its own pack.
  • When the effect is nearly running out, you can press tr to retreat your charmed ally away from you, and then walk in the other direction. This will stop the monster from being able to find you when it becomes un-charmed.
