Upon a (near) lethal hit, it shatters, negating the hit, healing the player by max HP/2 to full HP, summons Shadow Creatures, and creates fog.
Desirability
The dreamshard necklace[1], akin to the amulet of life saving present in other roguelikes, is an incredibly useful artefact. It is the ultimate escape item, though it continuously occupies the amulet slot (in place of perfectly adequate amulets like an amulet of regeneration or reflection) and is only usable once. While it is mistake insurance, please make sure you've tried everything else, first.
Despite already having multiple lives, felids still receive a benefit from this amulet, as it will save them from experiencing the XL reduction from an actual death.
