Explore mode is a limited version of wizard mode. The only benefit gained over playing normally is the inability to die. None of the extra information or commands from wizard mode are available. Explore mode games are not scored. Explore mode can be entered using the + key, unless it has been disabled.

Configuration option explore_mode can be used to start new games in explore mode or disallow entering the mode at all.
