Desirability
With bonuses to both dexterity and EV, the fencer's gloves make you significantly harder to hit, and the slaying boost makes your damage output more reliable. They're very nice if you find them, better than any mundane gloves, although some players may prefer the gauntlets of War.
History
In 0.17, these gloves will grant +4 to your effective Long Blades and Short Blades skills instead of +2 slaying.
Prior to 0.15, these gloves gave only +3 to dexterity, and added +8 to accuracy rather than +2 slaying.
