A fearsome naga warrior clad in sturdy armour and wielding a mighty weapon.

It is strange and repulsive.

“Amongst the deities and Asuras and celestial Rishis, O amiable lady, the Nagas are endued with great energy. Possessed of great speed, they are endued again with excellent fragrance. They deserve to be worshipped. They are capable of granting boons. Indeed, we too deserve to be followed by others in our train. I tell thee, O lady, that we are incapable of being seen by human beings.”
-Mahābhārata, Santi Parva, Mokshadharma Parva, section CCCLX. ca. 500 B.C.

Useful Info

Naga warriors are stronger in melee and better equipped than standard nagas, often carrying shields and enchanted weapons. They do much more damage in melee and can spit poison at you from a distance. You can find them throughout the Snake Pit.

Tips & Tricks

  • Poison resistance will make their spit nearly harmless.
  • They often wield heavy branded weapons which can deal gruesome damage in melee. Soften or kill them at range, even if means taking some spit.
  • Early characters looking for an enchanted shield or large shield may have some luck investigating the first few floors of the Snake Pit and hunting naga warriors. They aren't guaranteed to have one, but if you have poison resistance and run from any brutal uniques you come across it may be worth attempting.
