The needle trap is a mechanical trap which fires poisoned needles when stepped upon by a player or monster. They can fire 3-11 times before running out of ammo, and inflict a mild amount of poison on anyone who steps on it.

Repel Missiles and Deflect Missiles both reduce the chance of this trap being able to hit the player. Flying characters will never trigger them.

History

Prior to 0.15, stepping on a needle trap would generate a single poisoned needle ammunition.

Earlier versions could hold non-poisoned needles.
