Desirability
The seven-leagaue boots are a high risk item. They let you instantly approach and hit your foe from any distance, assuming you go in the 8 orthogional directions. On one hand, you can attack a pesky centaur or Deep elf annihilator without taking damage just trying to come up to them. But you can also charge into battle and get surrounded easil. Note that you can zigzag (for example, go diagnonal upleft and downleft) in order to approach something without activating the boots effect.
