A shield is a piece of armour which can be carried by any species but felids and spriggans to provide some degree of blocking defense (SH). They benefit equally from both strength and dexterity, making them a versatile choice for many characters, but without a decent Shields skill, you'll find that they can significantly slow your attack speed. They can be found with the following egos:

- Fire resistance
- Cold resistance
- Negative energy resistance
- Resistance
