3	Automatic retaliation to monster melee attacks. 50% chance, 3 to (2 * XL / 3) + 9 damage.	You are completely covered in sharp spines.

History

Prior to 0.27, damage depended almost entirely on XL.

Prior to 0.19, damage depended only on the mutation rank.

Prior to 0.17, the 'spiny' mutation was dramatically weaker, as it was reduced by the AC and Encumbrance of worn armor.
