A tubular staff encased in vividly coloured scales, the handiwork of a long-forgotten mage. It was stolen by the wizard Iskenderun who used it for a time before unlocking its secrets. The staff increases the power of its wielder's conjuration magic and, when its wielder is in danger, the staff will conjure a battlesphere to provide support. The strength of the battlesphere depends on the wielder's skill with Charms and Conjurations.

Desirability

Any mage who is already using a staff of conjuration will want to upgrade to the staff of Battle if they find it. Other mages may also want to hold onto it if they aren't engaging in weapon combat, as having a battlesphere following you around will increase your magical damage output for no extra cost. However, the staff of Battle makes for a mediocre bludgeoning tool and will not enhance any sort of defensive or utility magic; if you have found an enhancer staff for an elemental school of magic you specialize in, then that may be a better choice for you, especially if you don't have much skill in Conjurations and Charms.

Characters that do not plan to use direct attack spells have no use for the staff of Battle.
