'''Traps''' is the skill that lets you detect and disarm the many [[trap]]s you'll come across in your exploration. To disarm a trap, hold CTRL while moving in the direction of the trap. Be aware that not all traps can be disarmed. Higher skill will give you a better chance of disarming traps and increases the odds of you detecting the trap in the first place. Most players will want to eventually train this skill up to around 10 to avoid the deadly [[Zot trap]]s of the deeper floors.

Version 0.12: This article may not be up to date for the latest stable release of Crawl.

Traps is the skill that lets you detect and disarm the many traps you'll come across in your exploration. To disarm a trap, hold CTRL while moving in the direction of the trap. Be aware that not all traps can be disarmed. Higher skill will give you a better chance of disarming traps and increases the odds of you detecting the trap in the first place. Most players will want to eventually train this skill up to around 10 to avoid the deadly Zot traps of the deeper floors.

Traps can always be trained. Ashenzari grants a bonus that increases the effectiveness of this skill.
