+8 war axe
Vorpal brand
Always swings at 10 aut, regardless of any other factors.

Desirability

The woodcutter's axe, as just a +8 vorpal war axe, would already be a respectible weapon for a good portion of the game. Combine that with the fact that it takes no Axes skill at all, and any character will benefit. In addition, you can be sure that regular speed enemies will be unable to hit you twice for every swing you do.

This item is more useful in the early game, where it is more likely to spawn. Once you can comfortably swing a decently enchanted and branded broad axe (or any other weapon of your choice), the woodcutter's axe loses its luster. Still, its guaranteed 10-aut swing is quite useful for a long time.
