Version 0.34: This article is up to date for the latest stable release of Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup.

Your inventory is a list of all items you are currently carrying. To view your inventory while playing online, press 'i'. When playing offline, your inventory will be visible in the bottom right portion of the screen.

Players have four separate inventories: 52 pieces of gear (including throwing weapons) and unlimited potions, scrolls, and evokable items.

Each inventory uses a separate 52 letters (ie: both a scroll and a potion may be mapped to the same letter at the same time), and most consumables now have default letter assignments when identified.

History

  • In 0.34, inventory was split into 4 categories with 52 spaces each.
  • Prior to 0.29, missile weapons required ammunition, which took up inventory slots.
  • Prior to 0.26, food had to be carried around.
  • Prior to 0.22, books were items that had to be carried around.
  • Prior to 0.15, items had individual weights, and each character had a maximum carrying capacity determined by their size and strength stat. Also, certain items in your inventory could be destroyed, making it unwise to carry more of an item around than you really need.
  • Prior to 0.9, runes were items that had to be carried around.
