:Yeah the article's definitely wrong. I'm not honestly sure if that was ever true; I think it might have been a combination of runed/glowing items being slightly more likely to be cursed in older versions, plus the fact that people try runed/glowing items on a lot more than mundane ones, that made people believe that only runed/glowing items could be cursed. -[[User:Ion frigate|Ion frigate]] 23:33, 17 January 2013 (CET) | :Yeah the article's definitely wrong. + | :::I believe the change was that runed/glowing items are *always* special: they are either cursed, or have a brand (previously they could just have some nonzero enchantment, even when this was frequent and boring, i.e. with -1, +0 / -1, +1 orcish weapons). But "mundane" items can still be cursed. -[[User:Ion frigate|Ion frigate]] 07:42, 18 January 2013 (CET) |

"Only items that appear magical can bear curses; any item that has no descriptive word before the item name cannot be cursed. For example, a trident will always be safe to equip, while a runed trident may or may not bear a curse."
According to the function _weapon_is_visibly_special in makeitem.cc only one of every three cursed items weapons gets the cosmetic flag [1]. --CommanderC 22:57, 17 January 2013 (CET)
