An excellent item for most casters, although those with enough MR may eventually prefer a ring of intelligence with a higher enchantment. Its wizardry bonus and Int bonus also make it useful to more hybrid casters, who may have lower spell success rates. Also valuable to any character who needs MR, as it provides more than a mundane ring of magic resistance.

Desirability

The ring of the Mage[1] is an excellent ring for most casters, greatly increasing the wearer's spell success rate and power. Even if you don't use spells as your primary damage source, it can still be nice as a swapout.

Characters who do not plan to cast spells at all have no use for this ring.
