This is a talisman crafted to call the attention of the gods to its wearer. This divine attention makes it easier to please your god, but your god is also less likely to forgive your transgressions, and the amulet will drain some of your divine favour when removed.

The amulet of faith has the following, god-related effects:

  • Piety gain is 33% faster.
  • God gifts are 33% more frequent. (This can be powerful with Nemelex because the way to get gifts is to use gifts.)
  • Gods that may protect you from harm are more likely to do so (your Piety is 33% higher for such checks).
  • Xom piety walk is 33% faster.
  • Xom is more likely to act.
  • Removing the amulet will result in the loss of one third of your piety, but will never cause excommunication, or drop Piety too close to excommunication.
  • Wearing it during penance (even if you are currently atheist) will make godly-wrath happen 1/3 more often, so the penance will finish sooner.

This amulet will auto-identify if you put it on and are worshipping a god. If you put it on before joining a religion, it will auto-identify when you pray at an altar. If you haven't run across it by the time you have a lot of piety you might want to avoid attempting to wear-ID amulets since taking it off will result in a significant piety hit.
