I took a look into this and it seems that mediawiki cannot ignore capitalization for direct links. For example, [http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Ghost_in_the_shell a link to ghost in the shell] will have to be redirected to Ghost in the Shell. You have to make redirects for all the possible capitalizations to the right article..

However, they do have a search function which will ignore capitalization. So if you go into the search bar of wikipedia, type in ghost in the shell, the correctly capitalized article will appear for you to choose. We could ask kornel to implement this functionality.. --[[User:Flun|Flun]] 17:27, 23 January 2013 (CET)

Hi Ion, just a question. You have been very eager to upload icons at the old crawl wiki. Strange enough: now are nearly no pictures present. Is there a good reason that no one upöoads any? - I am about to rebuild the unrands page with all pictures. Allright? (Need to wait for anything?) -- Bwijn 22:23, 7 January 2013 (CET)

No need to wait at all, though list of unrands already exists: whenever you see a red link, check it on the old wiki to make sure it's not just a redirect.
As for the reason no one has uploaded any images, it's probably because no one wants to do it. It's slow work, since unlike with articles admins can't just mass-import them - so far as I can tell, they all have to be individually uploaded (please someone tell me I'm wrong!), and even doing that is more involved than copy-pasting articles. If you have a quick way to upload them (you aren't spudwalt from the old wiki, are you?) or have the inclination to upload them slowly, please do. I'll eventually get around to it if no one else does before me, but it's not exactly a task I look forward to with alacrity. -Ion frigate 11:12, 8 January 2013 (CET)

Redirects for alternative capitalizations of article titles

I took a look into this and it seems that mediawiki cannot ignore capitalization for direct links. For example, a link to ghost in the shell will have to be redirected to Ghost in the Shell.

--Flun 17:27, 23 January 2013 (CET)
