Desirability
It can be useful in the early game or if you need poison or cold resistance (or if you just really hate crimson imps). Unfortunately, it's a rather weak weapon in the long run, especially against cold-resistant foes. As a dagger it may be useful to stabbers, but otherwise this will generally only ever see use as an exchangable source of extra resistances for casters, or as an early-game weapon should it be found there.
