Version 0.30: This article may not be up to date for the latest stable release of Crawl.
A plain iron lance, imbued with supernatural gravitas via the artifice of the mage Gell. It strikes with a force many times stronger than that imparted by the wielder. |
+5 lance (modified spear: 8 base damage)
Heavy brand
Has a 1/3 chance of knocking back foes 1 tile when landing a damaging blow
Desirability
The Force Lance is a relatively strong 1-handed polearm. While a branded demon trident will deal more damage per turn, this artefact can knock enemies back, and can be found much earlier than a demon trident.
Knocking enemies into a wall, impassible terrain (like deep water or lava), or another enemy will cause some extra damage.
This artefact is more likely to spawn in the early game, where it is more likely to be useful.
