Tree form is a bad form that can be inflicted on the player by the polymorph other spell. While transformed into a tree, the player gains the following attributes:

  • The base cost of all actions is increased by 50% (similar to Statue Form)
  • The player cannot move, but can cast spells and attack
  • The player's EV is reduced to basically nil: (2 + size_modifier/2 + EV from Repulsion Field mutation, the same as when you are paralyzed)
  • The player cannot teleport
  • The player cannot fly
  • Unless worshiping Fedhas, the player loses a level of fire resistance.
  • All equipment other than shields, weapons, and helmets are melded.
  • The player cannot eat or drink
  • The player's hunger is set to Satiated (gaining nutrition from the ground via their roots), and they don't hunger
  • The player gains a decent bonus to-hit
  • The player's base unarmed damage is set to 12
  • The player gains torment resistance and rN+++
  • The player gains poison resistance
  • The player gains 25 AC, and GDR is set to 48%
  • The player gains 10 Strength
  • The player's racial stealth modifier is set to 27 (very high; from a comment in the source code, the player is "masquerading as scenery")
  • The player's HP is increased by 50%
