Martial abilities need more precise descriptions. Does Whirlwind attack all enemies adjacent to the destination square? Does Lunge only work on an enemy exactly two squares away? What squares are attacked during a Wall Jump? Mattlistener (talk) 17:42, 27 February 2017 (CET)

From my experience with playing around with Wu Jian (I had a Troll Monk of Wu Jian, which was really pretty fun):
  • Whirlwind hits everything that remains adjacent to you while you move. For example, it will hit these tiles marked with an X:
.....    .....
..... ..XX.
..@.. -> ...@.
..... ..XX.
..... .....
  • Lunge only works when you move one square directly towards an enemy, like so:
.....    .....
..... .....
..@.. -> ...@X
..... .....
..... .....
  • Wall jumps skip you over one square (which can be used to get past deep water or other enemies), then attacks all enemies adjacent to your landing point. It also has a chance of distracting other enemies -- I think it's everything in LOS, but I'm not sure if that's before or after the jump lands. However, it can't be used if there is something blocking your landing space, be it a wall or another creature.

Each martial attack seems to take into account your attack speed, so for my troll, as my skill in Unarmed Combat increased, I would occasionally hit things multiple times per turn with special attacks. Martial attacks also take stabbing into account, but I'm not sure about auxiliary attacks -- if auxiliary attacks are included, some of those extra attacks might have been from my offhand claw. So far, I haven't been able to determine if you can combine Lunge and Whirlwind in one movement; I'm pretty sure you can't combine Wall Jump with either Lunge or Whirlwind. --spudwalt (talk) 09:45, 28 February 2017 (CET)
