Skeleton

A decaying skeleton. |
A skeleton is a decayed corpse. Like corpses, skeletons cannot be picked up. Skeletons are produced when corpses rot away over time or through the Corpse Rot spell; skeletons themselves will rot away some time afterward. Note that some creatures, such as arthopods, do not have a proper skeletal system intact.
For the most part skeletons serve no purpose, but players with various necromantic abilities or spells can turn them into undead thralls. Both Corpse Rot and Animate Skeleton can be used on the same corpse, while long-dead monsters can be reanimated if their skeleton is intact.
