Helmets are a kind of head armour that grant +1 to AC and enhance your auxiliary Unarmed Combat headbutt attacks in melee. They may only be worn by small- or medium-size adventurers without beaks, horns, or antennae.
Helmets may be decorated as winged, horned, crested, plumed, spiked, or visored. Most helmets add +2 to headbutt damage, but spiked or horned helmets add +5.
Dwarven or orcish helmets exist, offering their corresponding bonuses. Rare ego helmets boost intelligence or magic resistance, or grant the ability to see invisible. Non-artifact helmets may be enchanted up to +2.
