Stlth malus or real noise?

Do these rings generate real noise that will attract monsters outside of the player's LOS or is it similar to Ru's "Sacrifice stealth" ? -- Fingolfin (talk) 17:10, 2 September 2015 (CEST)

They reduce your stealth score by 50, but do not generate extra noise. Sacrificing Stealth with Ru permanently sets your stealth score to 0. --spudwalt (talk) 22:05, 2 September 2015 (CEST)

Yeah, rings of loudness just make you easier to notice for things within your LOS. For attracting the attention of offscreen monsters, you'd need to make actual noise, such as by shouting, reading scrolls of noise, casting loud spells, etc. --spudwalt (talk) 01:28, 3 September 2015 (CEST)
