May create thunder clouds on enemies within radius 2 (1/7 chance each turn)
Desirability
The robe of Clouds[1] is most useful for those who haven't found another source of electricity resistance yet. It can also be useful for low level characters if they don't have a better armour yet, as thunderclouds generate lightning – which can do some nice damage, but at the cost of being extremely loud. While cloud immunity is slightly useful and reduces the tedium of certain parts of the game, it is usually not worth spending such a critical armour slot on. For general use, look for something with better defensive stats and intrinsics.
The cloud mage of the Cloud Mages' Chambers is guaranteed to be wearing the robe of Clouds, if it hasn't already appeared elsewhere.
History
- Prior to 0.28, the thundercloud effect was an evokable ability.
- Prior to 0.23, this unrandart allowed to evoke flying and randomly generated clouds of thin mist and rain, which occasionally turned dry tiles into shallow water and shallow water into deep water.
