Thunderbolt is a level 2 Conjurations/Air Magic spell, but as it is only available through the Lightning Rod, its performance is dependent on Evocations. This spell has a variable mana cost. The first use will always cost 2 charges. Any consecutive use will spend all the available charges in the rod, but never more than 5. You always need at least 2 mana points to be able to activate the rod.

History

This spell was added to the game in 0.11.

In ancient versions of crawl, there was a level 6 Holy/Air spell with the same name, and followers of TSO also had an ability called Thunderbolt.
