Thunderbolt is a level 2 Conjurations/Air Magic spell, but as it is only available through the Lightning Rod, its performance is dependent on Evocations. This spell has a variable mana cost. The first use will always cost 2 charges. Any consecutive use will spend all the available charges in the rod, but never more than 5. After the first use, it's possible to activate the rod even with only one charge left.

Cost: 2 (1-5) MP and some food (95-Evoc×10, but never less than 10)
Damage: {MP spent}d{(30+Spellpower/6)/(arc_length+2)}; arc_length is always at least 1
Accuracy: 10+Spellpower/20 for the first shot; 1000 for any consecutive shot
Range: 6

History

This spell was added to the game in 0.11.

In ancient versions of crawl, there was a level 6 Holy/Air spell with the same name, and followers of TSO also had an ability called Thunderbolt.
