Like a staff of wizardry, the ring of wizardry improves spell success rates and spell power. This item auto-ids if you have some skill in spellcasting as of version 0.8.0.
Tips & Tricks
Wearing a second ring of wizardry would confer roughly 20% of the effect of the first ring (assuming you weren't also wielding the staff of wizardry). Thus, wearing the second ring is probably only worthwhile in situations where you are monitoring the success of a specific, high-level spell.
Ring of Wizardry can make spellcasting practical while subject to spellcasting penalties from other sources, such as heavier body armour or Blade Hands.
