While purporting itself to be the personal account of a famous naturalist, it becomes clear upon reading that this book was compiled from multiple unrelated sources, including notes from a stagehand of a travelling magical circus. The travelogue may be fictitious, but but some of the spell diagrams carefully transcribed in the margins seem quite real.
