Desirability
The autumn katana[1] is a very nice weapon if you can find it. With better base stats than a demon blade, it has excellent speed, decent damage output, and the chance to target multiple, distant foes at once. The extra attacks roughly equate to vorpal when 2 monsters are on screen. It becomes stronger as more monsters are available, up to 5 monsters.
The spell Manifold Assault still works with this weapon ("Space folds impossibly around your blade!"), allowing you to sometimes get one layer of recursion.
History
- Prior to 0.28, the autumn katana had the vorpal brand and clarity instead of the ability to cast Manifold Assault. It also gained 1 base damage, but lost riposte. Note that the game falsely states it has the vorpal brand in 0.28 and 0.29.
- The autumn katana was added in 0.10.
