Version 0.31: This article may not be up to date for the latest stable release of Crawl.

For the monster, see skeleton (monster)

A decaying skeleton.

A skeleton is a decayed corpse. Like corpses, skeletons cannot be picked up. Skeletons are produced when corpses rot away over time, and the skeleton itself will rot away some time afterward. Note that some creatures, such as arthropods, do not have a proper skeletal system to raise.

Skeletons serve no gameplay purpose. Followers of Beogh can still revive orc skeletons, however.
