The mechanics included on this page don't make any mention of distance between targets, but it definitely seems that the spell has trouble striking distant foes. Or am I just imagining that? Anyone have any idea how that comes into play? --MoogleDan (talk) 14:53, 11 August 2014 (CEST)
- You're not imagining anything. The maximum distance the beam can traverse in a single jump is 7 squares in vertical or horizontal. Since the distances are randomized by adding +1, +0, or -1, the spell is still able to hit monsters 8 cells away from you, but 66% of the time it will ground out without hitting anything (as long as there aren't any other targets closer to you).
- If a monster enters your LoS in diagonal, then the distance to it will be less than 7 squares, and the spell is guaranteed to work. --CommanderC (talk) 20:09, 11 August 2014 (CEST)
