| Constructs a flying incendiary factory, packed to the brim with cluster bomblets which it can deploy both in melee and launch at range. While the monarch's bomblets have no attack of their own, they will pursue the caster's enemies until given the signal to explode. Recasting this spell while anything it has created is still active will detonate the monarch bomb and all bomblets, dealing a combination of fire and physical damage to everything adjacent to them besides the caster themselves. |

Forge Monarch Bomb is a level 6 Fire/Forgecraft spell that summons a Monarch Bomb, which has the ability to deploy a large number of Bomblets via its melee attack (or at range with the Launch Bomblet spell). These bomblets are mobile, but have no melee attacks and cannot be ordered around.
However, when the player recasts the spell, all active bomblets and the monarch bomb itself will detonate, dealing half-physical/half-fire damage to all adjacent targets (and destroying themselves). The caster is immune to the explosions.
Strategy
This spell is stronger in wide areas, especially when bomblets are allowed to get behind the enemies, but it can also function in corridors.
If nothing else, this spell is great at creating a swarm of bomblets, which can block attacks and make retreat easier, although it'll take a few turns to get a critical mass.
The monarch bomb itself can deal damage on its own, enough to take out weaker enemies without you needing to manually detonate.
Tips & Tricks
- It's good to lure enemies to a known location when using this spell. When enemies are alone or in small groups, its easy for bomblets to completely surround the enemy. In addition, luring helps ensure you have a safe place to regen MP, as using this spell on single targets is relatively MP-inefficient.
History
- In 0.33, this spell was added to the game.
