An amulet of the gourmand lets you consume meat like a carnivore but functions fully only after some time. If you eat meat while it "attunes" you will only gain partial nutrition from any chunks you eat while above "Hungry" level. Once it fully activates, contaminated chunks have the nutritional value of clean ones. The activation time is approximately 400 turns.
If you are a ghoul it will instead transform all clean or contaminated chunks into rotting ones making them slightly better for you.
It will not grant the ability to eat meat to spriggans, vampires, mummies, or anyone with three ranks of the herbivore mutation. As trolls already have the gourmand mutation, they will also receive no benefit from the amulet.
