Desirability
The robe of Augmentation[1] provides decent defense (for a robe) and a few stat boosts. It's an overall good item for lightly armoured characters, at least in the early game. The Dexterity is particularly useful for Dodging reliant characters. However, characters may prefer a randart armour and/or a heavier set of armour.
This artefact is more likely to spawn in the early game, where it is more likely to be useful (and less likely for you to find alternatives).
History
- This item was made more explicitly likely to spawn in the early-game in 0.28.
