Metal Splinters

Metal Splinters is a monster-only spell which blasts you with a cloud of shrapnel, dealing moderate physical damage.

The following monsters cast Metal Splinters:

• Iron elemental (3d27)
• Iron dragon (3d30)
• Serpent of Hell (Dis only, 3d32)

History

In very early, pre-DCSS versions of Crawl, this was a player-castable spell, a L8 Conjurations spell called Throw Splinters. Notably, it was a penetrating bolt, dealt pure physical damage, and bypassed enemy evasion. It was replaced in Crawl 2.7 with Lehudib's Crystal Spear.
