Reading a scroll of curse jewellery will curse a random worn ring or amulet and identify itself (unless none are currently worn or all are already cursed).
Strategy
Although mostly useless, you can use this scroll to train level 1 in the Spellcasting skill, or curse your gear to please Ashenzari.
