Yo Spudwalt

You rock. That is all. --MoogleDan 04:42, 3 May 2013 (CEST)

Heh. Yeah, that was a project, all right. I'd feel even more accomplished if I could get some of the artwork that's older than 0.11 (like the old versions of simulacra), but those tiles are probably lost to the mists of time by now. --spudwalt 20:46, 3 May 2013 (CEST)
Git is your friend. Just do: git checkout stone_soup-0.xx after cloning the repo. Btw, good job! --CommanderC 20:56, 3 May 2013 (CEST)
I'm guessing that's some sort of command code? I'm not really sure what that means or where to use it. --spudwalt 21:25, 3 May 2013 (CEST)

Uploads

I didn't realize when I uploaded all the new unrand artwork that it could be uploaded to the same name and still referenced, should I go back and fix this at some point? Pisaster (talk) 01:10, 16 February 2024 (CET)

Actually I tried uploading to the same file for non-unrand barding art, and I can't get File:Old to display, how does this work? Pisaster (talk) 02:43, 16 February 2024 (CET)
It's not a big problem, but if you know how to fix tiles without creating a bunch of redirects/duplicates, go for it :). I'm sure that it's possible, but don't know exactly how.
Also, here's how we update existing tiles. In MediaWiki, each uploaded file has its own page and supports multiple versions. Let's say you want to update Black Knight's barding. You open this page, [1], which is the same as Black knight barding.png, and click the "Upload a new version of this file" link to upload a new art. Black knight barding.png will show two versions of the tile, save the previous image locally. Note that sometimes it takes a couple of minutes for a file page to update, so it might show two identical tiles for a while. Then, on the Retired Artwork page, you add [[File:Old - Black knight's barding.png]] and upload the previous version of the tile there. If Retired Artwork already has an "Old - <something>" tile, name it "Old - <something> v2", etc.
This way all pages that have [[File:Black knight's barding.png]], e.g. List of unrands, will display the updated image automatically. I hope this helps. Ge0ff (talk) 22:34, 16 February 2024 (CET)
Thank you! I was able to upload new (plain) barding images this way, but I still can’t get File:Old to work. [[File:Old - Barding 2.png]] just gives a red link File:Old - Barding 2.png. I feel like I must be missing something obvious but I can’t figure out what Pisaster (talk) 23:24, 16 February 2024 (CET)
A red link means a missing page/image. Clicking a red link will give you a page for uploading the missing file. Ge0ff (talk) 08:23, 17 February 2024 (CET)
