Good Mutation and Bad Mutation are clarified in game by whether you're able to get one from a potion of beneficial mutation (good) or whether you're likely to get one from the Malmutate spell (bad). - Yes there is. Higher spell success but lower spell power. The question is whether to call it a good mutation or a bad one.
