The majority of the rodents you'll encounter are weak, insignificant creatures that do little more than rush you harmlessly and get slaughtered in droves. Rodents are most common in the early branches of the game.

r Rat - A feisty Dungeon delicacy common everywhere!
r Quokka - Fairly harmless marsupials, though dangerous to fresh adventurers due to their speed.
r River rat - Green-furred rats adapted to living in sewers. Capable of swimming.
r Hell rat - Demonic rats whose teeth nibble away at your very soul.
Obsolete Rodents
r Porcupine - Cranky rodents whose razor-sharp quills made their foes regret close-ranged attacks. Removed in 0.26.
r Grey rat - These feral rats were slightly more vicious than their civilized cousins and tasted much worse. Removed in 0.14.
r Laboratory rat - Rats that were enhanced by an insane mix of science and magic and endowed with various abilities. Removed in 0.13.
