Version 0.34: This article is up to date for the latest stable release of Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup.
An amphibious creature is one that is equally at home on land and in water, such as merfolk, sea snakes, and alligators:
- They have no penalty for moving or fighting in water (though they are still revealed if invisible in water), and can swim in deep water.
- They are immune to drowning / asphyxiation damage and engulf.
Player species that are amphibious are Merfolk, Octopodes, grey Draconians, and Barachim. If the player is a naturally amphibious species, items are not lost when dropped into deep water; this bonus is not granted by amphibious forms.
History
- Barachim, a new amphibious player species, were added in 0.20.
