HAMLET [Drawing his sword.]: How now! a rat? Dead, for a ducat, dead [Stabs through the arras.] -William Shakespeare, _The Tragedy of Hamlet, Prince of Denmark_, III, 4. 1603. |
The majority of the rodents you'll encounter are weak, insignificant creatures that do little more than rush you harmlessly and get slaughtered in droves. Rodents are most common in the early branches of the game.
Rodents
r Rat - A feisty Dungeon delicacy common everywhere!
r Quokka - Fairly harmless marsupials, only marginally more dangerous than standard rats.
r River rat - Green-furred rats adapted to living in sewers. Capable of swimming.
r Porcupine - Cranky rodents whose razor-sharp quills make their foes regret close-ranged attacks.
r Hell rat - Demonic rats whose teeth nibble away at your very soul.
Obsolete Rodents
r Grey rat - These feral rats were slightly more vicious than their civilized cousins and tasted much worse. Removed in 0.14.
r Laboratory rat - Rats that were enhanced by an insane mix of science and magic and endowed with various abilities. Removed in 0.13.
