Version 0.23: This article may not be up to date for the latest stable release of Crawl.
You are disoriented and dizzy, reducing your accuracy, evasion, and spellcasting success rate.

Vertigo is a temporary status effect that decreases your evasion, spellcasting success, and accuracy (-5 to-hit[1]) until it wears off.

Vertigo can be caused when casting Alistair's Intoxication[2], as a Hexes spell miscast effect (10 - 20 turns)[3], as a result of being hit by a plum Killer Klown pie[4], or when inside a cloud of seething chaos.

A potion of cancellation will remove the vertigo status (as well as many other status effects). Potions of curing have no effect.
