Bombard is a level 6 Conjurations/Earth Magic spell which launches an iron ball at a single target, dealing physical damage. This spell has a 50% chance to knock the caster back one tile (in the direction opposite of the attack). This knockback does not inflict damage if you collide into a wall, monster, etc.
Strategy
Bombard is a useful damage spell, since no monster has a special resistance to physical damage. Even Air Magic specialists have been known to pick this spell up to deal with elementally resistant monsters.
The knockback effect increases distance between you and the target, which can let you kite melee enemies for a bit. However, if you are not careful, the knockback can have unintended consequences. For example, you can push yourself off a staircase, or end up in water. Thankfully, you are warned if you would be moved onto a trap.
This spell combos well with Borgnjor's Vile Clutch, another Earth Magic spell. The zombie hands are great on their own, but also hold enemies in place to be hit by the Iron Shot.
Monster Version
